Default gas guzzling and no leaks

Hello

My 1991 Cutlass goes through gas like crazy lately with no smell of gas
or apparent leaks. I recently replaced the exhaust manifold and the
spring bolts do not form a perfect seal. Could this be tricking the
computer into running a super rich mixture. I have noticed this problem
a lot more since it has gotten cold in central PA. Thanks for any help
Bob

Hi Daniel,

It was getting about 10 mpg on a 4cyl. The spring bolts hold the
exhaust pipe to the mainifold and this seal is downstream from the O2
sensor. There is a flaw in the exhaust pipe where it does not seal all
the way; it will if I stud bolt this pipe to the manifold, but this
stress causes the mainfold to crack over time (3rd manifold in 3 years.
There is a slight leak that is most noticeably when I start the car,
then it goes away when it warms up. Hope this helps.

Bob
