Default Giulietta Transaxle query

Hi, are there any "fixes" for the wonderful 116 gearchange? Or is just a
case of replace synchro after synchro?

I'm sooooo close to buying another one it isn't funny..............

Cheers,
Craig

What's the problem? Knackered synchro of sloppy shifting? THere are cures
for both, ranging from drilling and lightneing the second gear to learning
how to double de-clutch.

I had one of these (a 1.8 bought new) in 1981. It would always baulk
on a 1st to 2nd shift when cold unless the first change in to 2nd was
from 3rd. After which the gear changes up/down the box were fine. I
did 55,000 miles in just over two years and no work was needed on the
gearbox - the ignition switch, alternator and back brakes were another
story.
