I tried keeping my old Ford Contour as long as possble,I think 7 years
is longer than average, but when sensors start malfunctioning & I have
to pay for it,well, that's wrong.I'm hoping this Ion will stay the
course,i'm used to it now ,but would rather have a larger vehicle.

True, most vehicles don't compare, they do much better. Saturn actually
ranks very poorly in terms of safety.

See "http://www.iihs.org/ratings/summary.aspx?class=40" where the Ion is
close to last in crash test safety. The Vue is in the middle in terms of
small SUVs, see "http://www.iihs.org/ratings/summary.aspx?class=58".
The Relay didn't do great either, see
"http://www.iihs.org/ratings/summary.aspx?class=80".

Safety isn't the only criteria to look at, but if it's of prime
importance, then Saturn is not a wise choice.

All the reviews mention the slow performance of the 4 cylinder, though
they call it things like "tepid" and "lethargic." It's too big and heavy
for such a low power engine.

The AWD version has a wide turning radius, but the 2WD version is about
average.

Nice cap locks. Before you jump into a new saturn, just remember they
don't even make SL's anymore. So the Good track record they
developed, they tossed out to start new again.

Check car reviews. Look before you jump.
