Audi tt coupe 1.8L 225HP Question.

I finally decided to replace my 1994 Ford Escort LX Auto. After
considering serveral cars, Iam looking at the 2001 Audi TT Coupe 1.8L
225HP quattro.

1. Do 2001 Audi TT need premium gas or regular gas? Being an Escort LX
owner for 10 years, I cann't thinking of anyother gas than regular

2. Do 2001 Audi TT has 2nd gear syncro problem as mentioned in Audi
Club somewhere in the Internet.

3. Do 2001 Audi TT consume lot of oil? How ofter one has to change
oil?

4. Anyother major problem with 2001 Audi TT Coupe?

I was raised around lots of odd cars packards,desotos,ramblers,nash on
and on cuz of my dads shop,I have several years of being a mechanic a
month ago i bought a 2002 audi tt,225 hp,6 speed,all wheel drive. This
car is incredible,!!!Everybody loves it!!! about your questions 1.mine
takes 94 or better octane,irun 92 and it runs great. 2.mine is a 6
speed ,always shifts good,havent heard any shift problems. 3.the car
may use a little oil between changes,so check it, oil is cheap ,i use
mobil one sythetic and doesnt use any.4.the most i hear about downfalls
is the brake rotors are soft,i upgraded all my rotors and pads for 300
bucks,si hopefully this wont pertain to me.Hope this helps Duane
