G25. Opportunity? or just another headache?
It's June 26th, and still no REAL Vista software for the G25. Promised for
June release, so they still have a few days -Larry "P Gagg" > wrote in message ine.com... > In article > , > (Mike Young) wrote: > >> *From:* "Mike Young" > >> *Date:* Fri, 22 Jun 2007 21:43:41 -0500 >> to think about a G25. G25. Opportunity? or just another headache?
Well, UPS dropped mine off here this afternoon. (Running XP; no problems
here. The first few minutes were frustrating; too many changes all at once. 6-speed h-shifter and 900 deg of lock. I don't think I'll try that again any time soon. 540 degrees felt pretty good after a few laps. The novelty of handshifting and double clutching wore off pretty quick; I went back to the shift paddles and haven't looked back. It sounds stupid, but by the second session, I had taken 4 seconds off my best time at rFactor's Toban in a Toyota Atlantic. Simply amazing, and almost effortlessly, too. I'm at a loss to explain it. (Oh yeah. This might have something to do with it. Last night, I installed RealFeel, and turned on invulnerability to really toss around the M3. I took a few seconds off my lap record then too, but that was sweaty work pushing the limits hard. I was still using the decade old Momo then, with a busted shift paddle. So it's RealFeel that's helping. Or maybe it's just invulnerability and a less inhibited driving style. Bounce off walls *and* keep the hot tires. Real life should be so grand. I wish I could say that I love the new toy, but I can see right away I won't even notice it. It disappears in the hand, the way a good tool does. That's the way I like it.
