My 95 is located on the inside of the frame rail just under the driver
seat. You have to crawl in underneath and look toward the driver side door to see it. I don't think Ford changed the location. You would need a fuel line and air conditioning disconnect tool. It is only a few dollars. |

Make sure you depressurize the fuel line before removing the fuel filter or you'll get gas all over the place. Pull the fuel pump relay fuse and start the engine to do that. Then you can remove the filter. Be prepared to have some gas spill from the filter and gas lines. A pan to catch the gas and some rags help. -- Mike Iglesias Email: University of California, Irvine phone: 949-824-6926 Network & Academic Computing Services FAX: 949-824-2069 |

My truck (160K miles) has only recently been surging, stalling while at idle, idling slowly and, freakishly, the gas mileage went up almost 2 mpg. It does not do these things all the time, either. I am guessing a clogged fuel filter may be causing it to run leaner. The "check engine" light only flashed on once for one second. |
