Default 93 LX w/2.3 question...

Underneath looking today and saw the boot on the ball joint is all torn
up.... thinking about just going ahead and replacing the ball joints. So, I
am looking up the prices for the parts, and it lists lower ball joint and
lower controll arm seperately. But, when I look up in the repair guides on
Autozone.com, it says they are integral and you must replace th lower
control arm.

Can I just replace the ball joint or do I need to do the who control arm? I
have access to an auto hobby shop on the local base, so I have all the tools
available (and some supervision), but before I start into it, I want to have
all the parts in hand.

Thanks for the info......

Gerry
