Parging and/or headlight warning alert solved
The following pertains to my early M1 Miata:
I have a 1990 Miata that lacks an audible alert, when the headlight or parking light is accidentally left on, and the ignition is off. I tried the light minder product and it was really tough to fit over the fuses and never kept a good connection. http://www.mmmiata.com/cgi-bin/shopp...tion&key=MM114 You can make a better light minder for short cash. (1) Get the same buzzer that light minder uses from Radio Shack: http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...t%5Fid=273-055 (2) Using a fine point soldering iron, and some thin core solder, apply it to the TOP_OF_THE_FUSE (not the exposed blade that goes into the fuse holder): (3) Do not solder the wire to the exposed blade. I first tried that but it doesn't insert into the holder properly. Instead, solder it to the tiny piece of metal on top of the 15A fuse, on one of the two side. Maybe you can see it in this picture. Look at the metal next to the engraved 15. That's not paint, its metal. http://www.bdelectronic.com/fuse/autofuse.html In the case of my M1, both these fuses are 15A. The RED wired 15A fuse goes into the Miata's Light Fuse Holder. The BLACK wired 15A fuse goes into the Miata's Cigarette Fuse Holder. |
