'95 DODGE NEON with codes 27 & 43
My Neon has been having the codes 27 & 43 coming up. I took it to a
mechanic 2 months ago & they said that I had a bad fuel injector so I had them replace it. The car ran fine for about a month when it started acting up again the same way as before. I took it back to the mechanic and they now tell me I have bad spark plugs and wires. I just replace both 2 months ago when this happened. So I replaced the wires and plugs again. The 2nd plug was really fouled (the same cylinder that they replaced the fuel injector on). Before I even got out on the road from replacing these items it was acting up again. There is the smell of unburnt fuel and I checked the oil, but there isn't any fuel in it. I've replaced the fuel filter also. Anybody have any ideas what could be wrong. |

That is an injector control circuit, the PCM grounds the injector to fire
it, if the PCM is grounding it all the time or the wire is grounded out it will cause the injector to stay open and dump fuel into the effected cylinder, this may be where you are smelling the fuel. The asd relay supplies 12 volts to the other side of the injectors. If the PCM was not grounding the injector, the cyl would get no fuel thus cause a misfire and lite on,. this has nothing to do with plugs or wires. the code 43 is a fuel sending unit fault which states the fuel gauge has not changed over a period of miles Glenn Beasley Chrysler Tech "Lee Bernath" > wrote in message ... > My Neon has been having the codes 27 & 43 coming up.
