Land Rover Discovery I vs II question
I own a 1998 Discovery and am looking at getting a second one for me since
the wife won't let me drive it anymore. I'm totally happy with the 98 and would easily buy a used one without ever trying the a Series II. Should I spend a couple g's more for a 1999 series II or stick with another 98? I have the full cd-rom service manual and like being able to fix it myself as well. Only 1 dealer within 100miles and they are expensive. I read the series II as not being end-user servicable. Thanks. |

In most other markets people only really consider the diesel. In which case
the Tdi is a lot easier and cheaper to work on than the Td5. If you are talking V8, which I assume that you are, then I am not too sure although the higher spec models do have things like air suspension, which is great when new but expensive to repair when it goes wrong. I am not too sure if there are other issues that you need to be aware of but also try alt.fan.landrover as there will be more informed opionons there. regards Stephen |
