Sorry, but that's the way it is. I think I will get it done at the 5 year service as recommended. OK, so it might last another couple of years until it has done 36K, but there is no point on penny pinching <LOL> Pete -- > 156 2.0 TS (2001) - Proteo Rosso (his) 147 2.0 TS (2002) - Gem Green (her's) |

I think it is whether the service manager was authorised to speak on behalf of Alfa GB . I.e. whether it was an opinion stated by an employee or Alfa GB policy. Even then he wasn't an employee of Alfa GB but (presumably) a franchised dealer for whom he may have breached the contract between said dealer and Alfa GB. I am not being deliberately negative, but I wouldn't hold much hope in what a service manager states that Alfa GB (or any car manufacturer) will pick up that is outside of the stated liability. |

UPDATE you guys......
Had it out on the phone with MOTORVOGUE service mgr....head and valve replacement req...£1450...3 belts £495...ouch. However as a goodwill gesture they (motorvogue) will do the head but charge me for the belts..Time to do the job well at least another week and 1/2! Still not impressed at this as is a known fault as many have pointed out...motorvogue said speak to Alfa UK for the difference seemed surprised when I quoted them the case number... Watch this space.... Colin |

Not unfair to charge you for the belt part.
