Yes, I have heard of it. Yes, it does work for about the same length of
time as Armor All. Moral of story is do not put any wax or silicone
based material on outdoor plastic trim.

I primed and painted it. Than lightly used polishing compound after two weeks.
It really made a differance. Looks great.
