Default Disposal of Refrigerant 12 dichlorodifluoromethane?

I've got an old 12 oz can of Refrigerant 12 (dichlorodifluoromethane)
for auto air conditioners that I would like to safely dispose of. Any
suggestions? Can I take it to a local auto repair shop that can deal
with it?

Thanks,
Wayne

Sell it on eBay...they're going for $20+... There are still lots of R-12
systems out there.

Sell it on eBay. There's plenty of demand. If you take it to an auto shop,
they'll happily take it off your hands...and laugh at you as soon as you
leave, 'cause the next guy who comes in with an R12 A/C will pay $30 for
your giveaway can.

Thanks for the thoughts. I should have realized that there was still
significant demand for this.

Wayne
