Shoulder passing by slowpoke
A Sloth driver in a Honda Accord pulled in front of me today and started
going 45 km/h in a 70 km/h zone. Obviously not needing to go anywhere, the Sloth driver continued at this speed until it saw another driver turning left ahead. It stopped behind the turning car, but then decided that it could use the shoulder to pass, despite the big signs with "Do not drive on shoulder" printed on them. If you're going to drive on the shoulder illegally, at least do it quickly. This Sloth driver was so slow to pass the turning car that the driver who was turning had already turned by the time the Accord was actually on the shoulder. Since the Accord was now "pulled over" on the shoulder, I started forward. The Accord driver decided that this was when to speed up and drift back onto the road, cutting me off. I honked, and the Sloth driver stepped on the brakes and started going 20 km/h through an intersection. Then this slowpoke drifted onto the wrong side of the road, completely on the other side of the center line, and started driving into oncoming traffic! |

When you see something like that, make a RAD report (call 911 to report him). DO NOT put yourself in his way to "teach him a lesson".....you were lucky, he could have crashed you.... |

>Next time you'll know to accelerate briskly enough so that you're past
>the Sloth before he can cut you off again. Scott's usual advice: Whenever in doubt, make the situation as bad as you possibly can...... Question for you Scott: Would you really rather have the drunk behind you or in front of you where you can watch out for his behavior???? Most of the drunks I've seen LOVE to tailgait the car in front of them......they become fixated on the tail lights....and they will go as fast as that car.....until that car slows down for some reason...... |

You had no business trying to pass the driver when he was on the
shoulder. You knew damn well he would momentarily get back into the proper lane. As for driving partially on the shoulder when the car in front is making a left turn - everybody does that so just chill ou, you nutball. It's not illegal since that is not considered a pass. |
