Default replace radiator with transmission?

I am an amateur backyard mechanic. I'm replacing the 700r4 transmission in my
82, and was wondering whether its common to also replace the radiator. All I
need is some 24 year old radiator to spring a leak into the transmission
cooling lines and ruin my newly rebuilt tranny. Or am I just being paranoid??

Thanks
Greg

Do flush all lines and radiator, but replace the radiator because of a trans
xchange my vote is NOT. Please note that the cooling effect of the trans
cooler in the radiator isn't what you would think. The only time a trans
cooler is needed is under heavy load otherwise during the winter it helps
keep the trans fluid warm which here in Michigan the problem during the
winter is keeping the car on the road vs. trans warm or hot.
