Default Scuffed Pinion Gear (rear end)

I've heard that Molybdemun Disulfide powder added to the rear end lube
can help to some extent to quiet the gear noise if the gear is scuffed
a little due to low lube. Any ideas out there about this problem. I
don't want to tear down the pionion gear just yet. I've tried a heavier
duty 80-140 gear lube (Lucas Lube) with only a little improvement.
Thanks.
