Are you saying that all parts for the front suspension had to be
replaced all at the same time: all 8 control arms, both sway bar
links, and both tie rod ends?

Thanks for that. My 3 year old A4 has 65,000 km at the moment but I
plan to keep it for a good few years yet so it's not particularly
encouraging to hear of your fairly major problems starting at only
120,000km!
