There are T/mV conversion charts for most thermocouples at:

http://www.temperatures.com/tctables.html

Temperature sensing devices have differing mV outputs
w/r/t temperature, based on the construction of the device
and the materials used in the device. Common sensors
include Thermocouples, Thermistors, Resistance (RTDs),
IR Thermometers, Optical Pyrometers, Radiation Meters,
Thermal Imagers, Fiberoptic, Semiconductors, Phase
Change Devices, and Bimetallics.

If you can identify or describe the device you have, or the
sensor materials, someone at rec.autos.tech will probably
have exactly the information you need.

Good luck.

Rodan.
