2000 caravan chk engine light

Default 2000 caravan chk engine light

ck engine light code 700 & 740.
dealer says code 38 , needs a new converter.
is there anyway that this is just a bad senser?
the van runs and shifts fine.
cant get a state inspection sticker w/ the check engine light on.
in texas...

Can you just simply disconnect the light until after inspection? It may go
out afterawhile if you leave it alone. I would not fool with the converter
if it shifts ok. I would get 2-3 second opinions first. I've been in this
for years and dealers make as many mistakes or more than independent
garages. They are in it for profit and the more they sell the more they
make. There are some very good dealers but use common sense.

Can you just simply disconnect the light until after inspection? It may go
out afterawhile if you leave it alone. I would not fool with the converter
if it shifts ok. I would get 2-3 second opinions first. I've been in this
for years and dealers make as many mistakes or more than independent
garages. They are in it for profit and the more they sell the more they
make. There are some very good dealers but use common sense.

it was the speed senser plug. by being located right next to the dipstick
tube, whenever the trans fluid is checked, drops of fluid drip down on that
plug connector. it was an oily mess, and my light hasnt come on any more.
now to try to get my 90.00 back from that dealership
