Explorer 98' engine Pinging
My 94 had pinging problems that were treated with all the remedies
mentioned so far. Finally, I replaced the fuel pressure regulator. Seems the old one only worked under normal, flatland loads. Get the model by GP Sorenson Co.; the others do not physically fit like they are supposed to. About $75.00 @ Autozone. Don't even ask what Ford wants for one! dosio wrote: > Hi guys, > > I own an Explorer with 4.0 OVH or "pushrod engine" When I bought it, even up > hill under load engine was very quiet.
