90 wrangler prob
Got a 90 wrangler with a 4.2 5 speed. Seems to backfire when driving. The
motor dies out, but if you feather the throttle you can keep it going but it backfires bad..... Any suggestions?? TIA John |

I would first check the power connections to the coil. They have a
crappy Ford coil connector that gets corroded out easy. Mike 86/00 CJ7 Laredo, 33x9.5 BFG Muds, 'glass nose to tail in '00 88 Cherokee 235 BFG AT's JD wrote: > > Got a 90 wrangler with a 4.2 5 speed. I would say the same thing but maybe pop the cap off and have a look at
the rotor if the coil connection is good. If the rotor tab is wasted or bent somehow it will run badly. |
