You are getting answers from fools. What you call SF is up to
you, and dividing total millage by estimated speed etc is
non-productive.

Best advice is stop thinking in terms of 10 hours per day
driving, and more about how much time can you allocate for
scenic viewing. No matter how you route your drive, you will be
traveling through some of the most awesome scenery in North
America, and given the relative uniqueness of such a trip it is
probably wise to figure that you will never have another chance.
Don't miss the opportunity to actually *look* at it!

Find a copy of "The Milepost". Study it carefully. Drop
by alt.culture.alaska and ask questions of people who've
been there and done that.

Better trade your car in for something old with no power assists.
There are very long deserted stretches up there. You wouldn't want to
be trapped in your car for hours on end would you?
