I... merely pointed out in that thread that IMO the CHP was correct by classifying the crash as "speed related" **in accordance with CA law**. Arif evidently found the phrase "Speed not a factor" in a news report and misinterpreted that to mean another somewhat similar crash in a different state 1000 miles away was determined to not have speed as a related factor. The law is probably certain to vary from state to state and a crash exactly like SD Dave observed might be found to be unrelated to speed. But in CA, it wasn't. ----- - gpsman |
