Default Interior color scheme for silver/green 82 Corvette

Hello,

I picked up an 82 Corvette to restore for my driving
pleasure. I've completed most of the mechanical and
body work. I've chosen to stay with the silver/green
exterior and silver/green interior. It is not the
collector edition model. The interior needs to be
totally redone and I'm looking for ideas on what I
could to with it. It is definitely coming back to
life.

I've been unable to find a similarly colored model
to look at. This last weekend I attended a mostly
Corvette show that had a few 81/82 collector edition
models with a nice interior plans. One was a two
tone silver/black exterior with tan interior. Various
colors of tan, light to dark, were used on the seat
backs and across the door panels. I don't know if
this was a factory or after-market design. I kind of
like it better than the solid color scheme.

Have you seen a silver/green exterior and interior
model? What did it look like? Were there any options
to spruce it up?

I have a few color samples along the gray, and green
to blue line. I'm trying to figure out what will look
nice for the doors and interior carpet. The seats are
planned to be restored to the vinyl green original but
I still have time to change my mind on that.

I've also considered having the seats embroidered
but haven't found any inspiration along that line yet.

I'm new to restoring a car and to Corvettes in general.
I've always wanted one and the color and style that I
found was too much to resist. I'm hooked and starting to
enjoy restoring a car rather than buying something new
off the lot.

Thanks in advance,

David

There are two of them in my "General" Area....and BOTH get quite a lot
of looks because they come off as truly good looking cars...

But I was under the impression that the exterior color was rather rare
BUT I just now "consulted" my Black Book and discovered that in 82
there were 5 other colors that had lower production numbers....so much
for me being any kind of expert...

Go to www.C3VR.com pull out your wallet and plunk down 10 bucks for a
years membership...IF you do not get 1- bucks worth of info off the
forums within a week I would be very surprised... Seriously the
site used to be completely free but within the last year then started
charging $ 9.95 a year for standard memberships....I have gotten
enough information off the C3 forums over the years that I skipped
right to a lifetime membership...

Should be no problem to just ask for someone to e=mail you color
photos of the interior on Code 40 82 Corvettes...

Lots of Luck...

Thank you, Bob.

C3VR has been mildly helpful so far. They have lots of
good pictures and plenty of active people. The organization
takes a while to sift through. I've found lots of good ideas
there.

My Corvette gets its last coat of clearcoat today. It looks
fantastic. If it all comes together in time I'll take it on
this year's Power Tour. Sadly the local Corvette dealership
lost my order for recovering the seats and other items I
had on order. I have friends coming down in three weeks and
I'd prefer not to show them a wonderful new looking Corvette
and see that we move it around by sitting on a milk crate.

Thank you,

David
