Default Dodge Tranny 1996 Problem

I have a 1996 dodge intrepid with a just recently installed trans. and
a new module. The problem is that when it shifts into first it bums
then shifts into gear, then shifts fine through the rest of the gears.
Once I stop it goes into second, but if I stop and restart it starts the
whole process over. I have a code P1782.
