High milage verus regular oil question.
Is it worth the time / money to use high milage oil in an older car with about 110,000 miles on it or is regular oil just as good ?? The last time I had the oil changed I went with Quaker State high milage over regular Quaker State oil . TIA |

Beware extra cost oil in a worn engine. Usually not worth it. I have never been a big fan of Pennsylvania oils. One of the best I ever found for older engines was Texaco's Havoline straight 30 weight oil. Once you wear to a certain point multigrade oils don't work as well. However - what I have found through LONG experience is that if you start with a NEW engine - you'll find it will do best with Mobil One synthetic. All synthetics are good, but Mobil seems best to almost eliminate engine wear. |
