Depends on who your internet service provider is.

I'm using Comcast at the moment, I used to use Earthlink at the last place.

I'd think it more depend on the actual email client the OP is using.

In general yes. There is some information that you need from your ISP.
You need to know the server name, server type (usually NNTP), what
type server for outgoing messages (usually SMTP). This should be all
you need. Of course you need to know your account name and password.
It's really not that hard to set up. What email client are you using?

Is that ZZ 9 Plural Zed Alpha?

With Earthlink, I could set Outlook Express to read news.earthlink.net with
my user id and password, the same as my mail. With Comcast, I have an
entirely separate place to go, and a user id and password totally different
from my mail user id and password.
