Well if you're really paranoid, you could always buy a pre-paid SIM card (or
a pre-paid handset with removable sim) anonymously (or under an assumed
name) and pop it into a unlocked GSM phone that you bought from ebay or
somewhere. That way, there is no way that the phone call could be traced to
you. But you'd have to be careful who you called, as they might drop a dime
on you. -Dave

And having worked in consumer electronics, having such untraceable GSM
phones is not a problem for me anyway.

Or you could simply not own a cellphone? Is it really *that* necessary
for people to be constantly reachable? Although one nice thing about
cellphones over land lines is that cellphones can be turned off when I
don't want to be bugged; whereas land lines are always on for
telemarketers and other swine who want to pester me.
