Richard ============================= It doesn't work quite that way. What happens is: You post your photos to a server somewhere, perhaps to your own website or to a usenet binary group (you're seeing these as Google Groups, but they're really usenet groups accessed through a Google interface) or to one of the many photo hosting services. Then you wait until Google's webbots run across your photos in the process of their constant web crawling, and index them. Might be tomorrow, might be next month. Richard. ========================== I'm not connected in any way with Google, but my guess is that they have their hands full with (and their development budget fully allocated to) the many other services they offer and plan to offer. Also, Google is not Wikipedia, which cares about the accuracy of its content. Google has no incentive to insure accuracy. They just say, "here is information meeting the parameters you entered in the search box." After all, they're >pretty much at the mercy of what people contribute, and well... some people >will just put up BS or incorrect info until someone catches it. ========================== Yes, of course, and I should have been more clear. My point was that Wiki has a mechanism to catch the BS and that the long-term goal is accuracy, whereas Google and other search engines don't have such a mechanism, don't care about accuracy, and would bog down completely if they tried to verify the information they catalog. > Thanks again Joe for the info. Search engine verses site..now I get it. I am slowly learning. I have a complete collection of Popular Science magazines going back to 1924 so I have read a lot of the Gus stories. I have a large photo file on old cars. I see some of my photos on the Image site that have been used in various magazines. Richard. |

Thanks R Banks for the helpful information as well. Don't know why the < shows up. Must be something else I am doing wrong. I have been going to a chat site on classiccar.com for many years. All these differnt sites and engines have different structures. Richard |
