It's a Miata group, all Miatas are trouble free so what's to post
about? <G>

Here is a slightly more troublesome car, but this is a pretty cool run
at Nurburgring.

Sad isn't it! Somebody's going to have to stir this place up, I don't like
it to sit and get stagnant. Not good! I may try something I've been holding
off on to drum up some interest. Stay tuned.

xs11e: i'm afraid to agree with you for fear i'll trigger something
in our (roubletra reefra) '91 with 150k on it. so i won't say anything.
thanks for breaking the three-day silence, as golden as the latter
purportedly is.

Everybody must be out driving their Miatas! <g>

Today was the first time I've driven mine in almost a month. Not that
I didn't *want* to drive her, it's just that having 10 staples across
the lower abdomen tends to discourage major leg movements, such as
braking and using the clutch. Major emergency surgery and subsequent
complications suck.

Particularly since I won't be able to do the DelVal HPDE at Pocono
this coming Monday and Tuesday. ;-(

I was without my '06 Miata from Tuesday AM until Friday PM after I took it
in for the 30K service. I had mentioned that the seatbelt wasn't retracting
properly and that there was a rattle in the center speaker area. They did
their best but when they ordered a new seatbelt retractor they found out
that it couldn't be shipped overnight and had to come regular freight.
Seems that they didn't take the tensioner squib into account. Oh well, at
least that part was under warranty.

They service manager said that the tech checked the center area carefully
for anything loose that might have been making noise and then installed
some "sound deadening material" all over the area. Haven't heard the noise
yet but it always was very sporadic.

But the bill for the 30K service came out to about $300 which was a bit of
a kick in the teeth. I don't think I ever spent that much for any single
service on the '91 except for major things like a new clutch or new shocks
all around. I don't even recall paying that much for the timing belt change
although that was a lot of years ago and my memory sometimes sucks.

BTW, it was seriously weird driving the Mazda 3 loaner. Sitting bolt
upright in a front-wheel-drive automatic econo-box is a a big change from
17 years of Miatas.

Was going to post as a saw something you don't see everyday yesterday.
Someone buying new 40" TV and taking it home in a Miata, hard top on as
well. Who says they have limited carrying capacity.

I recently drove the neighbor's pick-up, one of those jacked up deals
with raised suspension and big balloon tires. I felt like I was sitting
on top of a house. I think he said it gets 8 mpg. And the handling was...
I'm not sure if awful covers it but it's the best I can do at the moment.
