It isn't 100%, but it is close. I have never gotten a ticket, but I speed
all the time. But I know the places the cops hide and the times they are
out there. Of course, that is only for my area (if I go on a drive 40 or
50 miles or so away I have to be more careful).

That isn't what happens in my community. We could definitely use a few
more "officer friendly"s. My friend's car broke down, last night, and the
cop who stopped yelled at us because we couldn't park on the side of the
road! WFT?!!? Like we were parked! When we told him that the car stalled
out and we couldn't get it started he gave us a nasty look and drove off.
THAT is why the police get a three-letter-name (and it isn't "cop").

That is what gives us all a bad name. We can't do a lot to help (I'm a
motor unit so I don't have any tools etc.).
We usually block traffic until a tow truck arrives, or try and move the
vehicle so that it doesn't block traffic. At one time we carried "slim
jims" in the cars, and would use our "push bumper" to push a vehicle out of
the roadway, but people started suing the PD saying we scratched their
vehicle - so all that stopped. Now about all we are allowed to do is call
for a tow truck, or if possible, we just help push the vehicle by hand.

Sorry to hear you had problems.

Used to be that way where I am also. The police would open a car for you
if you had a brain fart and locked your keys in the car. Then one
tourist too many sued the County Police for damaging the vehicle and
the Chief said no more unlocking car doors unless a life is in danger.
Oh well, you try to do something for some people and then all have to
suffer because of a prick or two...

Ladies and Gentlemen (and I use those words loosely), Speeders & Drunk
Drivers are MURDERERS, proud (and obvious) graduate of the South Hampton
Institute of Technology told this lie in rec.autos.driving:

> I drive at or below the limit all the time and i never get pulled over

> speeding "all the time".

Oh, no you don't, liar. You know damn well that you have admitted to
speeding and that you have been caught; or do you need to be reminded,
yet again:

> "> Have you ever driven a car faster than the legal speed limit?

Holy ****ing ****! Talk about your Freuidian Slips! If I didn't think
that the FBI, CIA and NSA were a bunch of idiots, I'd forward a few
copies of Loco Laura's posts under the new nym to them. Look at the
acronym; we have a *real* criminal in our midst now, and xeton2001
@yahoo.com is no freaking American (native or otherwise)....

Honestly, just a "sorry to hear about that" would have been fine. I mean,
if he couldn't get out or something because it was on the highway (an
interstate, so I know it can be dangerous) I could understand that, but he
could have AT LEAST been sympothetic.

I know not all cops are like that, but it does seem that there are a lot of
them like that out there.

Thank you for saying that.

I remember my brother and my dad getting the police to get their cars open,
but luckily I haven't done that (yet).

HAHAHAHA. Now the board loonie says the number of shootings per day
equals the number of speedings!!!!!!!! Off hand i'd say there are a
million TIMES as many speeding crimes a day as shootings.!! THINK

Is there any difference between moving violation tickets and parking
tickets as a source of income? I don't think anyone makes any bones
about parking tickets being a source of income. The people who write
them used to be called "Meter Maids." If you don't pay the meter you
will get a ticket. Either way the city gets income.
