Alfa radio reception
Is it just my car or where I live, or is the Alfa 156 aerial (I believe
built into the rear screen) useless for long wave and medium wave radio reception? Also, if the aircon is running, it gets even worse. My crap old Renault, with the classic pointy metal stick on the roof never had a problem. Are there ways to improve the reception? Also, I saw what I think I read as an "Alfa 2000" when I flew past it on the M-Way a couple of days ago. It was a really fun looking convertible with an old UK "S" reg plate (1977?). It was definitely Alfa when I looked in the mirror. Could someone point me to more info on these? Thanks, Neil |

That will be a Giulia Spider (as famously featured in the film 'The Graduate), then. http://www.carsfromitaly.com/alfaromeo/index.html then click 'all models' and 'spider' -- Steve H 'You're not a real petrolhead unless you've owned an Alfa Romeo' http://www.italiancar.co.uk - Honda VFR800 - MZ ETZ300 VW Golf GL Cabrio - Alfa 75 TS - Nissan Primera 2.0SLXi - COSOC KOTL BoTAFOT #87 - BoTAFOF #18 - MRO # - UKRMSBC #7 - Apostle #2 - YTC # |

The poor m/w reception (we don't have l/w here) is an inherent weakness with
the 156. It has been mentioned on this newsgroup several times in the past. I've never seen any way of improving the receptionother than installing an external aerial. If I had the time and money for a "classic", I think a Duetto/Spider would be the one. Or maybe an 8C 2900 (in my dreams). http://autozine.kyul.net/classic/alfa.htm Neil > > -- > Steve H 'You're not a real petrolhead unless you've owned an Alfa Romeo' > http://www.italiancar.co.uk - Honda VFR800 - MZ ETZ300 > VW Golf GL Cabrio - Alfa 75 TS - Nissan Primera 2.0SLXi - COSOC KOTL > BoTAFOT #87 - BoTAFOF #18 - MRO # - UKRMSBC #7 - Apostle #2 - YTC # |
