Default 1998 SW2 clunking noise from front suspension?

Looking for a bit of help. I have a 1998 SW2 that I have had since
new. It has about 125,000 miles on it and still going strong. Just
recently it started developing a occasional 'bangy' clunk when
turning.

I was thinking CV joint but I think that would be more than one clunk
(it would be more of a series of clunks). Driveability is totally
unfazed. It seems to be coming from the wheel well areas but I can't
localize it.

I had the car in for a check-up about 6 months ago and they replaced
the Tie rod ends and the right lower control arm. They have always
done exceptional work so I doubt it's related.

Thoughts, suggestions?

I'm wondering about the sawybar bushings at this point.

Sway bar rubber components may possibly be worn and hitting as you said.
Engine mounts?
Broken spring, strut top mount or strut?

Is the noise from the front or rear?

Thanks,

I thought about the engine mounts, but it's a standard and I
thought that I would notice the clunk when engaging the clunk but I
don't.

The noise is entirely from the front. I wondered about the
strut top, but I thought I would get wind-up (the corner would rise)
if the plate was seized? There's not any perceivable shudder to go
with the bang/clunk and it only occurs at low speeds with big steering
inputs.

1- Jack up both front wheels, and place on SECURE blocking.
2- Do a complete inspection.

This may also be a good time to rotate your tires, and check / replace your
front brake pads and rotors if required.

Good luck, YMMV
