Go look at new vehicles on the lot. I have seen rust spots on '06 vehicles. ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Unrestricted-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 120,000+ Newsgroups ----= East and West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =---- |

Makes quite a mess, but works better than anything else on the market. Needs to be reapplied every year. -- TeGGeR® The Unofficial Honda/Acura FAQ www.tegger.com/hondafaq/ |

I've seen a lot of orange peel and cars that don't hold up to three years of "use", but not a lot of rust. (Haven't looked underneath too many cars yet, just doing the quick comparos so far.) I thought I was rough on cars, then I look at these 02's and 03's and they look like hell on the inside. 130,000 miles on a three year old car... stuff like that. Now I know why I used to buy beaters... when you were paying $300 for a car, if it started 90% of the time and wasn't too rusted you considered that a good deal... Ray |

Rust holes in NY are on the inspection list in case there is a structural issue, or in case exhaust gas entry is allowed. It would likely pass with a fair-sized hole in the rocker. They are the panels below the doors. In Britain, if they are rusted out, you have to cut them out and weld in new metal. AFAIK, most of them are decorative, but I have seen some that lend structural integrity to the chassis, I suppose. Here in the USA, most people would laugh at you if you got too concerned about rocker panel rust. |
