98 Gr. Caravan blinking dash lights
I recently purchased a used 98 Grand Caravan 3.3, my forst Chrysler product
since 1963. Today was hot and the battery failed. My wife was stranded with it. She had the motor club come and jump it so she could get home. I bought a new #34 battery and installed it. It starts and runs fine but now 4 control buttons (both rear wiper buttons, the recirculate air button and the A/C button) have amber lights blinking constantly. I suppose it is some kind of code. Does anyone know how to stop them? |

Well, no one came forward with an answer, but I found the fix in a forum at
www.autofan.com I copied and pasted it below in case anyone else is perplexed by the blinking buttons. 1. Start the engine. 2. Position the A/C slider controls all the way LEFT. 3. Make certain that the Vent control is set to "Vent", or "Face" (so that the air would be blowing on the face only) 4. Turn the FAN control to HIGH 5. Depress the A/C (snowflake) button, and the REAR WASHER button both simultaneously. Hold them until the lights illuminate all together. Release. After cycling through some tests of the climate controls for a couple of mimutes, the lights will stop flashing. This took me 5 minutes and saved me a trip to the dealer.
