It is? Gracious goodness me. How on earth did all those Northeasterners
get by before AWD? I guess they simply didn't drive between October and
April.

Moron.

well aren't you a snoody little prick.

when you live on top of a mountain and the snow plows don't get to your
streets.. it is pretty hard to make it up hills in anything but an all
wheel drive.

specially when you get 20 inches of snow in a span of 2 days.

Only if you don't know how to select tires and/or how to drive.

HEMI: Marketing term for "engine".

Well, granted they are trying to cash in on the cachet of the original
two series of Hemi engines that developed quite a performance
reputation, but the truth is that there are some performance advantages
(at the cost of a more complicated head design) to a hemi-head engine.
Certainly this time around it isn't as revolutionary as the original,
both Chrysler and others have used hemi heads on lots of engines since
the 426, just without the hype. Actually, pretty much any modern engine
uses either a wedge or hemispherical combustion chamber. I'm not sure
if the wedge is still the most common, but it used to be since it's
simpler to arrange the valvetrain (hence the cachet of the original Hemi.)

I guess only time will tell if the new Hemi lives up to the reputation
of its predecessors.

It has nothing to do with engine design; it's just Chrysler's marketing
department's way of doing what they can to cash in on whatever mantra a
redneck and his 3 year old kid can regurgitate on TV.

It's like Bush repeatedly saying "The American People are Safer" - sheep
will eventually learn to bleat it.
