GTR resolution stuck at 800/600
The resolution in my GTR config is stuck at 800/600/16bit and I can't get
any other setting to stick. I've tried a re-install but it didn't help. The computer is running at 2gigs with 768megs of memory and a 9800pro video card. Anyone else have this problem? Any Ideas? Thanks. Don |

Any chance your GTR config file is read-only? Does it change after you
run 3Dconfig and then get forced back when you run the game? Kendt |

The Config.ini file is set to Archive only. If I change resolution to anything other than 800*600 in 3Dconfig, hit OK, close it, and then go back into it without even running the game it will have reverted back to 800*600, Changes to the refresh rate will also not stick, it reverts back to 56Hz, but a change to FSAA or Use Vertical Sync does stick. Do you know what line in the Config.ini file (below) refers to the resolution? Is it VIDEOMODE=25 ? Also, I'm using version 1.4 yet the last line says version 1.0, is this the norm? I almost hate to be the one that tells you this.....
Everything you describe is completely normal. Each time you open the "configurator" it fills in the DEFAULT 800x600x16 - this display is not relative to what is set in-game. If you started the actual sim... you would find that your settings are properly set there. Just run the config once - set your preferences and then go into the sim. Yo dude. Have you looked to see of your monitor has been installed
properly? You might need to reinstall the monitor's .inf file. -- Richard "ZZ" Busch GTRank Member: Screamers Racing League oAo AoA MARA GTR GT Rank +34.560 NGT Rank +37.765 GT Rank Monster +1163.777 GPL Rank + 14.768 MoGPL Rank + 308.654 N2003 Rank -18.8060 ---------------- Remember racecar is racecar spelled backward ----------------- Get Firefox! ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 120,000+ Newsgroups ----= East and West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =---- |
