Default Need 2001 Accord Brake Bleed Sequence

I'm looking to replace the brake fluid in our 2001 Accord coupe (2.3L
4cyl EX) and I need the bleed sequence. I've searched this group a bit
using google but could not find a sequence for anything close to this
model year Accord. I'd appreciate it if someone with a service manual
could post the sequence.

Thanks,
Procyon

Honda uses the diagonally-split dual system.

Bleed sequence is:
1) Right rear
2) Left front
3) Left rear
4) Right front

Was that sequence specifically for the 01 Accord, or did you intend it to be
generic for all Hondas? I ask since my 99 Prelude Service Manual bleeds as
follows:
1) Left front
2) Right front
3) Right rear
4) Left rear

This bleeds the shortest lines first (which means it alternates between the
diagonal split system as illustrated in the manual).

If your Honda/Helm service manual speicifes that, then your car uses a
front/rear split.

It may also be that your ABS system requires such a bleed sequence.

If it's a Haynes/Chilton manual that says this, throw it in the garbage and
get a real manual.

Should you not also have to activate the ABS to properly bleed the whole
system?

The Helm manual for my '03 Accord specifies the same sequence, which is
what I used when I bled the brakes 2 months ago.

NO to the front/rear split. As stated, my 99 Prelude Service Manual (First
Edition, 10/98, Honda Motor Co,.LTD, Service Publication Office) commonly
called "Helms" clearly shows on page 19-7 a diagonally split system (ie.
left front and right rear vs right front and left rear). The same diagram
numbers each wheel in the sequence that I stated.

It may be true, as you point out, that the sequence is dictated by the ABS.
However, my point was that one cannot give a generic bleed sequence which is
what I think your statement to the OP implied.

AND, since my "Helms" manual is titled "1997-1999 Service Manual", there was
no need to indicate it is NOT the Haynes/Chilton POS. And, yes, I have
bought the "real" manual for all my new cars (77 Olds, 84 Prelude, 90
Prelude, and 99 Prelude).

J.
