Type 2's that have reduction boxes have the ring gear on the "normal" side,
from the factory. And I've seen quite a bit of horsepower put to them in off-road applications.. |

edit: the above post was meant to say that the ring gear is on the OPPOSITE
side of what you get get in a Type 1 or Type 3, sorry for the confusion |

Swapping the ring gear to the other side is just as strong as normal. If
you go to a high HP engine you may want to consider HD side plates. FYI I was running around 85 HP in my F-Vee (solo racing) with stock side plates no problems. HTH, ~ Paul aka "Tha Driver" Giggle Cream - it makes dessert *funny*! |
