FORD buying majority share of Honda
I just heard that Ford Motor Company is purchasing up to 40% of all
shares of Honda. This is not official yet, but it is in the works. Interesting... |

No matter how bad it gets, Ford Motor will not fail or disappear. Ford is safe as long as the U.S. Treasury can issue loan guarantees, but it probably won't get that bad. they arent buying anything. |

Ford owns a third of Toyota and Masda, all of Volvo and Jag and others in smaller amounts so I would not be suprised if they tried to buy Honda; however I just did a five day news search on Google and did not see anything about it. |

Confirming what most of you are saying, Ford owns a third of Mazda, and
also bought Land Rover off of BMW. But no, they don't own any of Toyota and arn't buying into of Honda. |

That one third interest in Toyota is either a miss read by me or sloppy reporting. The story I read said ford had a 33.4% in toyota, since I can't find it today I'll have to accept it as a miss read on my part. The following is from Hoovers this morning: Ford owns: 33% Masda, all of Hertz, Volvo, Jaguar and BMW's Land Rover Suv GM owns: Saab,Opel,Vauxhall and has interests in Subaru, Suzuki, Fiat and Daevoo Ernie |
