Default Sunwins Nottingham AR Dealer !

Would I use them again.....not in a hurry. My car ( 03 AR 166 2.5L V6 ) was
in for a 24,000 mile service - cost 317 GBP including areplacing a split
window wiper (27 GBP)

They phoned me up as I was driving in and said we don't have a courtesy car,
even though I booked it 3 weeks ago, after a conversation they agreed to
sort something out.
They put Haveline 5W40 oil - I assumed that as a full AR Dealer they would
put Selenia 20K in automatically - but no only if I ask apparantly. Is the
5W40 oil OK ?????
I asked them to replace a faulty Electric Window switch ( passenger window
switch on the drivers side), when I got there they proudly pronounced that
the Passenger Elecric Mirror was working fine !! When we read the original
job sheet of course it said "electric window switch" - so now it has to be
booked in again.

When I got to the car, the car was locked but the boot was clearly open.!!
And they hadn't bother to wash it, when I complained they did nothing more
than throw a bucket of soapy water over it - Class !!

In a word "Poor"

Not that it will Alfa drivers in Nottingham but...

....my 24k service with Simonstone in Bristol went well. Brand new 147 JTD
courtesy car, good customer service, everything done including some
unplanned warranty work they discovered and car nicely washed.

Without wishing to offend the JTD fans here I was unimpressed with what I
believe to be one of the best diesel engines around. Performance was good
but it vibrated like hell when idling and sounded just er a diesel. I know
I'm old school but Alfas aren't supposed to sound like that!

Admittedly it only had 240 miles on the clock so probably needed some more
miles, but I've yet to be converted from being a petrol head...

Cheers
Tony

Sorry to hear your experiences. Sadly it sounds a bit like mine with my
local AR dealer.
Booked in GTV V6 for 48k service slightly early to ensure it was still under
warranty, and to remedy a minor oil leak. When I picked it up they confirmed
that there was an oil leak - would I like them to book it in to repair? This
was a real struggle to sort out before the end of the warranty. When I did
take it back they kept the car for two days and eventually found no trace of
an oil leak!
Worst of all after the service I walked to the car and saw the bonnet was
not properly closed - or so I thought! Turned out they had been messing with
the bumper to replace a fog light, and left the bumper loose. 6 weeks later
they still had not phoned to say the parts were in to repair this, and so I
called in to be told the parts were ready and waiting for me. Would I like
to book it in?

Home many times have we heard this type of story? Great cars let down my
poor dealer network.

Used them for my 12k - which JTD did they give you? Mine doesn't rattle =
too much at idle....

Amazingly since the service my MPG has improved !!
I did a steady 90 mile run up the motorway today ( cruise set to 75, I was
in no hurry) and got 34 MPG !! Stunning.
