Snow Tires for a '98 740iL
I currently have Michelin MXV4 235/60 R 16 tires on the 1998 740iL.
I've always used them as year round tires with so so results in the winter. Having put on snows on my '01 530 SP with great results, I was wondering if the snows were as needed on the 740 as they are on the 530 SP. If you think so, please recommend some tires. I was thinking of Dunlop M3's. Thanks. |

I decided based on which tire would give me the best performance under the worst conditions (snow) I live in Massachusetts so you may have different conditions that may warrant a tire that makes a compromise between snow traction and dry road performance. |

I do not understand why you (or anyone) would think otherwise? Of course winter tires will help any car go through winter driving conditions better and safer. > If you think so, please recommend some tires. I was thinking > of Dunlop M3's. Sorry, can't help there. My experience is limited to Blizzaks (Bridgestone) and Arctic Alpins (Michelin). Both of which are quite good. -Fred W |
