Default 2004 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab 4x4 ...what packages??

I'm considering to buy a 04' Tacoma D-Cab 4x4.
I just wanted to get a felling for what was the normal packages
everyone was getting. Do I need to TRD package if I'm going to get a
4x4? What else is recommended?

Thanks,
Stephan

If I could afford that ruck that is EXACTLY what I would buy. I have a 1997
Toyota Tacoma and I LOVE IT! I've wanted a double cab since they come out
but I haven't had the cash. You do not NEED the TRD package but it does have
some nice features. The Rear differential locker is only on the TRD and you
get nicer seats, moonroof and better suspesion parts. It also had color
coded fender flares. Sure is a nice truck. If you are going to buy a 2004
Double cab 1/4 ton. That is certainly the BEST truck!

The Nissan Frontier is also an option and it can be had with a 6' bed
instead of the puny bed on the Toyota. Also, with the current rebates
they are dirt cheap. I just paid $21,500 OTD (tax tags and everything)
for a 2004 4x4 Crew Cab 5 speed long bed with the power package
(standard equip w/ A/C and CD player). It would have been $1000 less
without the power package (no tilt, cruise, pwr windows or door locks).
While it does lack in HP and looks compared to the Toyota, it is weighs
about 500lbs more. My '95 Nissan Hardbody has been the most reliable
vehicle that I ever owned.

the the TRD package includes nicer seats, moonroof and better
suspension.
even better suspension than the 4x4 already offers? How about the sr5
package? Do you recommend that? I am going to get the moonroof. It
makes all the dirrerence. But I'm not sure about the TRD package or
the Sr5 package.

What do you think?

no I'm not buying it only for the suspension. I like the bigger tires
and the rear differential locking. It's half for mild offroading and
half because I like the beafier look. So should I get the TRD package
or should I do everything after market?

How about the sr5 package? Does the chrome get all scratched up when
you go off roading?

Thanks,
