I almost always drive 5 mph over the speed limit because:
1. Most cops don't give tickets for 5 mph over the speed limit.
2. Speed limits are designed for the worst drivers with a big margin.
3. I don't believe in laws for their own sake.
4. I don't want to slow down everybody else.
5. I know what the speed limits are. It's obvious that lots of people
don't by watching how they ignore it when speed limits change.
6. Tickets cost more than the time saved.

Anywhere where private cops can give tickets, I don't go over the speed
limit. In an obvious speed trap place such as Empire where the highway
goes through the town and the cops don't have much to do except making sure
that we don't endanger the kids, I do not speed.
