Engine Sealant Oil Additive

Hi,

Recently I came across a product which when added to the Engine Oil, can
seal minor leaks, if any exists.

The directions were to add that Bottle of Additive to the hot engine oil
(Operate Car for 20 minutes), then add this to engine oil, & run car for
30 minutes.

It says it will seal the minor engine leaks.

Unfortunately I forgot the product name. If anyone knows can you guide me
with product details & it's reliability.

Are you referring to "Bars Leaks smoke away" or "STP smoke treatment" or
similiar? If you are, I haven't heard good things about them, except
maybe to extend the life of a junker a few thousand miles. They can gunk
up the engine and cause further damage.

Don't waste your time on these products. We tried several differant ones
on high mileage vehicles specifically with bad front/rear main seals.
None of the products had any lasting effect, and none slowed the seepage
by more than about 10%, and only for a short time.
