My '79 had one.
1 Ohm, if I remember correctly.

1953-54 Buick, Olds, Cadillac. Maybe even a few more later years.
1959+ had resistance wire in the harness.

>With Fords they had the wire not the external firewall mounted ballast resistor.


Sunbeams using Ford engines used one one that was not resistance wire.

I wonder how he feels about ballast tubes in some antique radios.
Maybe he prefers the Ford/GM thinking of a resistance wire
in the power cord instead.
