Sporty-looking, small (about the size of Miata) coupe or maybe
convertible,
with the letter T inside a circle on the trunk lid. Any ideas?

Toyota Celica? But they stopped selling it in North America in 2004.
Still, it might have looked newish if you saw a 2004 in good
ondition. -Dave

Sylized T? A picture would really help. Could be a Toyota MR2.

No, a plain T inscribed in a circle. None of the suggestions above
are correct.
