Default 2004 Ford Explorer Auto 4X4 Button

Hi,

I just bought a 2004 Ford Explorer XLT, and have looked through the
owner's manual to see how you can tell if the Auto 4x4 is engaged.
4x4 high and low have indicator lights on the dash, but the auto 4x4
button doesn't seem to have an indicator.

How do you know if it's engaged or not?

Thanks.

Auto 4X4 isn't "engaged"... if the switch is in the auto position, it is
"active" and will engage when commanded (as needed).

Thank you.

I've not owned a 4WD vehicle before, so all of this is new to me. I
appreciate the help.
