That depends on the vehicle and if you've lost keys already. On the '09
F250-550 at least, if you have two working keys you can program new ones
using the two originals and doing a bit of a tap dance with the keys
which is documented in the owner's manual. If you've lost keys and don't
have two working ones then the programming has to be done with a scan
tool with the appropriate capability.

I bought a Miata. It was built in Hiroshima. I think this means I
support nuclear weapons, but I'm not 100% sure.

And you then have *no idea* how a *dealer* might have whacked an owner for
$500, eh?
