Default 1994 Dodge Shadow Problems

I have a 1994 dodge shadow that is having some problems. It starts up
fine, Idles fine, but when you get on it it chugs. Its like fuel stops
flowing into the engine for a second and then kicks back in (like what
happens when your car is on empty and it starts chugging). When you
take it on the freeway the SES light comes on but only when you get on
the freeway. The chugging also seems to stop when the engine gets up
to temp, and today it was running a little hot but not over heating.
Does anyone have any ideas on what this could be? Thanks!
